Day 1: Hanoi to Mai Chau Valley ( L, D )

Cycling Distance: 75 km

Route Overview: 7:30 AM pick up from your hotel and depart Hanoi via a morning support vehicle to Hoa Binh. Unload the bikes and begin pedaling through rustic landscapes, limestone karsts, and rural villages like Thung Nai, Trung Hoa

Highlights: Challenge yourself up the winding roads towards the Ba Khan - Hoa Binh Dam before a spectacular descent down into the lush, emerald-green bowl of Mai Chau Valley.

Overnight: Traditional stilt-house homestay with the White Thai ethnic minority.

Day 2: Mai Chau to Ngoc Lac ( B , L , D )

Cycling Distance: 90 km

Route Overview: Follow the undulating tarmac roads running adjacent to the scenic Ma River (Song Ma), navigating an iconic supply route used historically during the war.

Highlights: Depart the Thai village after breakfast, following an undulating tarmac road alongside the gently flowing Ma River (Song Ma). Pass quiet farming communities and rice paddies along this historic wartime supply route. After a local lunch, tackle a couple of consecutive short mountain climbs in Thanh Hoa Province before descending into the market town of Ngoc Lac

Day 3: Ngoc Lac to Thai Hoa ( B, L, D )

Cycling Distance: 89 km

Route Overview: Hit the historic Ho Chi Minh Highway heading south. The road cuts away from the river valleys and contours across the rugged mountain foothills dividing Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces.

Highlights: Start early to beat the daytime heat, joining the smooth tarmac of the quieter sections of the Hoian Highway / Ho Chi Minh Trail. Roll through the northern foothills of the Truong Son mountain range past Muc Son and Yen Cat. Enjoy changing vistas of dense jungle, remote hillsides, and sparse rural settlements. Experience continuous, rolling hills surrounded by dense green vegetation and looming karst cliffs. The tarmac is smooth here, perfect for continuous cadence cruising.

Day 4: Thai Hoa to Huong Khe ( B, L, D )

Cycling Distance: 80 - 120 km

Route Overview: Push further south along the interior trails into Ha Tinh province. The landscape transforms into vast rubber, tea, and orange plantations.

Highlights: Continue deep along the historical Ho Chi Minh Trail through Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. Stop for lunch around Pho Chau town and visit local roadside markets. Ride through rolling interior back-roads before finishing the afternoon push into Huong Khe district.

Overnight: Local hotel in Huong Khe.

Day 5: Huong Khe to Phong Nha National Park ( B, L, D

Cycling Distance: 90 -100 km

Route Overview: One of the most demanding yet rewarding days of the trek. You will ride up into the formidable Truong Son mountain range along winding mountain passes.

Highlights: Pedal out from Huong Khe as the peaks of the Truorng Son Mountains rise sharply around you. Cruise along the pristine, winding mountain tarmac of the Ho Chi Minh Highway, conquering the challenging ascents (including the area around the Da Deo Pass zone) before a short support transfer into Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. Cycle surrounded by old-growth primary jungles as you border Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. The dramatic limestone peaks announce your arrival into cave country.

Day 6: Phong Nha to the Imperial City of Hue ( B, L )

Cycling Distance: 70 km

Route Overview: Wake up early to catch a quick boat excursion into the majestic Phong Nha Cave. Hop back onto the saddles to ride across the historic 17th Parallel (the Demilitarized Zone / DMZ) down to Cam Lo.

Highlights: Early morning departure riding south across the historical Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and the 17th parallel region. Cruise on flat, easy tarmac to visit the vast Truong Son National Cemetery. Conclude the cycling portion near Cam Lo, then board a support vehicle or bus for a comfortable transfer bypassing the busy highway straight into the former imperial capital of Hue. Tour ends upon arrival in Hue.
