Cycle on the off-beaten track where you only see local people on the way. We support you, with a minivan, and a local tour guide who will cycle along the road with you.
Day 1: Hanoi – Thai Nguyen – Ba Be Lake ( L, D )
  • Distance: ~70 km cycling (with support vehicle transfer for the heavy traffic out of Hanoi)

Route: 7:30 pick up from your hotel and transfer north past Thai Nguyen tea plantations, starting the warm-up ride as you approach the mountainous Bac Kan province.

Highlights: Scenic rolling hills, rural villages, and arrival at Ba Be National Park by late afternoon.

Overnight: Local Tay ethnic minority stilt-house homestay in Ba Be. 

Day 2: Ba Be Lake Exploration By Boat ( B, L, D )
  • Distance: 10 km light cycling / walking

Route: Pedal around the tranquil lake fringes and local karst paths.

Highlights: Morning boat cruise on Ba Be Lake (the largest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam), visiting Ba Hoa temple and Dau Dang Waterfall. Swimming .

Overnight: Ba Be homestay. 

Day 3: Ba Be Lake – Cao Bang City ( B, L, D)
  • Distance: ~65 km cycling

Route: Ride over rugged mountain roads and conquer winding mountain passes like Gio Pass into the limestone highlands.

Highlights: Spectacular upland vistas, minority farming settlements, and finishing along the Bang Giang River in Cao Bang City.

Overnight: Hotel in Cao Bang City. 

Day 4: Cao Bang City – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Quay Son River ( B, L, D )
  • Distance: ~85–90 km cycling

Route: Ride via DT206 over the multi-tiered Ma Phuc Pass toward the Chinese border.

Highlights: Panoramic views from Ma Phuc Pass, exploring the massive Nguom Ngao Cave, and arriving at the thundering Ban Gioc Waterfall. Take a bamboo raft near the falling water.

Overnight: Local stone-house homestay in Khuoi Ky ethnic village near the falls. 

Day 5: Ban Gioc – That Khe – Lang Son ( B, L, D )
  • Distance: ~80 km cycling

Route: Southward journey on historical border-region backroads towards Lang Son via That Khe.

Highlights: Dramatic limestone karst landscapes, remote valleys, and historical frontier markers.

Overnight: Hotel in Lang Son City.

Day 6: Lang Son – Bac Son Valley – Return to Hanoi (B ,L) 
  • Distance: ~40 km morning ride + vehicle transfer

Route: Morning ride through the picturesque Bac Son Valley rice paddies, followed by a comfortable support vehicle transfer back to Hanoi.

Highlights: Golden rice fields (seasonal) surrounded by towering peaks before heading back to the capital. End the tour at your hotel .
